Frequently asked questions

  • We spent multiple years experimenting and optimizing our suppressor technology, while incorporating AFSPECWAR feedback all along the way. From our Inlet Array technology that expertly transits gases away from the center bore to our parametrically designed and tuned baffle cell sizing and spacing, Battle Born Supply Co.’s patented technology is unique, sophisticated, and revolutionary.
  • Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, processes underlie our suppressor products, and the alloys we’re able to print with incredible precision and repeatability provide strength, toughness, high-temperature performance, and oxidation resistance. When paired with our special, one-piece suppressor construction, we create metamaterial-like improved performance, providing our customers with a supremely tough, battle-ready suppressor that will operate across all regimes.

Additive manufacturing allows for once impossible-to-manufacture geometries to be produced with high confidence. There are many metal 3D printing processes – and they all have pros and cons, but Battle Born Supply Co. employs the best process for the current job, while already looking over the next ridgeline at what’s coming. Battle Born Supply Co.’s 3D-printed suppressors are inherently stronger, higher performing, and less prone to catastrophic failure since they’re a single, integral part, versus traditional (and even some modern) suppressors.

Suppressors are unfortunately illegal for civilian ownership in California, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island, as well as the District of Columbia. One must be legally eligible to purchase a firearm, reside in one of the 42 states that allow civilian suppressor ownership, pass an ATF background check, and be at least 21 years old (when purchasing from a dealer) or 18 years old (when purchasing from an individual citizen).

• Hollywood has helped pave a ridiculous path to suppressor ownership, with suppressors regulated under the National Firearms Act (NFA). That being said, processing times are improving, and the process from our website to your door is explained below:

• First, you choose the Battle Born Supply Co. suppressor that best fits your needs. Next, you choose and provide the details for your local, in-state FFL / SOT that will process your suppressor transfer. After your purchase is complete, Battle Born Supply Co. will transfer your suppressor to the authorized FFL / SOT holder.

• You then submit an ATF application with the assistance of your chosen FFL / SOT holder – Battle Born Supply Co. is here to help however we can – and complete the $200 payment for the ATF Tax Stamp, as well as a transfer fee if your FFL / SOT holder requires.

• After your application is submitted and the ATF approves, you may acquire your suppressor from the FFL / SOT holder, where you’ll confirm your information and complete final documentation. Please ensure that you always bring proper identification and a form of payment when visiting your chosen FFL / SOT – this will reduce back-and-forth.

• Through this process, you will likely register for an ATF eForms account and then file an eForm 4. There is a helpful eForm 4 submission how-to video located here: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/applications-eforms/video-tutorial-form4.

Here’s where there is some good governmental news – approval processing times are improving. You can check the rolling prior month’s average processing times for Form 4 (both Trust and Individual) via the ATF’s website here: https://www.atf.gov/resource-center/current-processing-times.

You’ll notice that eForms processing times are drastically shorter than paper processing times, so if you’re amenable to creating an eForms account, you can take advantage of the ATF’s modernization initiatives that have actually produced very positive results for firearm owners.

Yes. Every firearm in America should have a suppressor hanging off the end of it, and once you suppress, you’ll never go back. Suppressors attenuate portions of the sound profile produced by gunfire and present a shooting experience that is more enjoyable and easier on one’s hearing – with or without EarPro.

Battle Born Supply Co. suppressors provide options for limiting gas blowback, reduce recoil which can improve accuracy, increase bullet velocities which can positively impact range, and almost entirely eliminate optical signatures / flash.

We’ll produce titanium alloy suppressors in 5.56, 7.62 cans in Inconel 718 and titanium alloy, and “shorties” across both caliber spaces. We’ll produce a Flor De La Muerte muzzle adapter that allows customers to shoot 7.62 suppressors on a 5.56.

Thermal Armor is our next love, where we’ll start with our own suppressors and then offer Thermal Armor for other suppressors and even custom jobs.
